Michigan shooting: 2 killed, 6-year-old boy hurt after shots fired in Lansing

LANSING, Mich. — One suspect is in police custody and another remains on the run after a Michigan shooting left 2 women dead and a child wounded, authorities said.

According to WLNS and WILX, the incident, which investigators said was not random, occurred about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at a home on West Michigan Avenue in Lansing. Lansing police arrived to find two women, ages 46 and 24, who had suffered fatal gunshot wounds, the news outlets reported. Authorities also discovered a 6-year-old boy who had been shot and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where his condition was listed as stable, police said.

Police later apprehended one suspect, 21-year-old Gavin Anspach, in connection with the shooting, WILX reported. Another suspect, 23-year-old Brion Reynolds, remains at large, officials said. Police said Reynolds – who may be traveling in a gray SUV and likely is armed – stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds and has cornrows.

Police initially said two toddler girls, Lilliana and Zymani Reynolds, were missing and likely were with the suspects, according to the news outlets. Both have been found safe, WILX reported.
