A city employee made the grisly find at a filtration facility in the Bronx, officials told WNBC.

The discovery was made at the water pollution control plant in Hunts Point, WABC reported. It was described as a leg from the knee down, with the foot attached.

Sources told WNBC that the leg looked like it may have belonged to a baby or a young person.

The conveyor belt was immediately stopped, but a search did not reveal any other body parts, WABC reported. At this point, investigators told the station that it is unclear whether the leg was dumped at the building, or was in the water and got caught in the filtration system.
