Megan Thee Stallion, 25, who was born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, was shot in the feet during a party in the Hollywood Hills in July, KABC reported.

“The rap artist known as Tory Lanez has been charged with assaulting a female friend in the Hollywood Hills earlier this year," the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Lanez, 28, who was born Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, was charged with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, Variety reported. According to prosecutors, Lanez also faces “a gun allegation” and that he “personally inflicted great bodily injury.”

Lanez is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, KABC reported. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 22 years, eight months in state prison.

Prosecutors said Lanez and a 25-year-old victim got into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills, the Los Angeles Times reported. The victim exited the vehicle, and Lanez allegedly shot several times at her feet, the newspaper reported. The victim is identified in charging documents as Megan P. Stallion.

Medical records reviewed by the Times revealed that Stallion had a surgical procedure to remove a foreign object from her heel hours after the incident. She had a 4-by-4-centimeter wound, according to the records.

Stallion originally declined to tell police that she had been shot, KTLA reported. She also did not identify Lanez as the shooter when interviewed by police in July, but in August she accused him as the shooter on her Instagram Live account, the television station reported.

“Yes ... Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying,” Stallion wrote. “Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand.”

Lanez responded to Stallion’s allegations with the album, “Daystar,” which directly addressed the shooting, the Times reported.

“How the (expletive) you get shot in your foot, don’t hit no bones or tendons,” Lanez sang on “Money Over Fallouts.” He continued: “Megan people trying to frame me for a shooting / But them boys ain’t clean enough ... Girl, you had the nerve to write that statement on that affidavit knowing I ain’t do it but I’m coming at my truest.”
