Tennessee man accused of stealing car with sleeping child inside

CLARKSVILLE,. Tenn. — A Tennessee man is accused of stealing a vehicle that had a sleeping child inside, authorities said.

Christopher Nicholas Lee O’Quinn, 27, of Clarksville, was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated kidnapping, theft and evading arrest, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sandra Brandon.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 2007 Dodge Nitro was stolen from the parking lot of a Dollar General store in Clarksville, WZTV reported. According to authorities, the owner of the vehicle was shopping inside the store, the television station reported.

Authorities located the vehicle several blocks from the store, WSMV reported. The child was unharmed, police said.

O’Quinn was arrested, and his bail was set at $140,000, according to online booking records.
