ALAMO, Texas — A Texas couple is behind bars in connection with the death of an Alamo toddler.
According to KRGV, Crystal Pelayo, the mother of the 19-month-old victim, is facing a charge of negligent homicide in the child’s death, while her boyfriend, Hector Sanchez, faces a capital murder charge. They were arraigned Saturday, officials said.
Police said they began investigating the incident Feb. 4 but did not provide further details about the case, KRGV reported.
Sanchez is being held on $1 million bond, according to the news outlet. Pelayo’s bond was set at $250,000, officials said.
