Travis Scott no longer headlining Coachella

INDIO, Calif. — Coachella has pulled rapper Travis Scott from the lineup of performances for the 2022 Valley Music and Arts Festival, KESQ reported. Scott had been scheduled to headline the annual music festival in 2020 before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

An online petition had circulated in November asking Coachella organizers to remove Travis Scott from the lineup because of the tragedy at the Astroworld festival, which gathered more than 60,000 signatures.

Coachella would have been Travis Scott’s first return to the stage since the Astroworld tragedy, in which 10 people were killed and hundreds more injured. Sources told Variety Scott will receive what’s known as a “kill fee” for the Coachella cancellation.

Travis Scott’s hard seltzer line, Cacti, was discontinued Friday by Anheuser-Busch, also in the wake of the Astroworld tragedy, NBC News reported. The seltzers debuted in March.
