JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Year two in the Jacksonville Jaguars' rebuild begins tonight.
The Jaguars host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at EverBank Field in the first preseason game of the year.
There is a lot of new to look at tonight.
The Jaguars number one draft pick Blake Bortles, the new 60-foot-high video boards, and the swimming pools are expected to get the most attention Friday night.
The world's largest video boards and the pools are part of the $63 million stadium upgrades, financed by owner Shad Khan and taxpayers.
The Jaguars will be missing some players who will be key when the regular season begins.
Running back Toby Gerhart is out with a hip flexor.
Wide receivers Cecil Shorts and Alan Robinson are also out. The starters are expected to play about a quarter.
Bortles and the number twos will play the second quarter.
The rest of the guys competing for roster spots will play most of the second half.
Bortles has had an up-and-down training camp, with some great moments and some not great moments.
His best performance came last Saturday night during the scrimmage.
It will be interesting to see how he performs Friday under the lights.
The Jaguars are coming off a 4-12 regular season.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Jaguars haven't played against the Bucs in the preseason since 2009. Jacksonville is 6-3 against Tampa Bay in the preseason.
The Jaguars will be in Chicago for a Thursday night game next week for the first of two straight road games.
The team travels to Detroit on Aug. 22 and returns to EverBank Field for the preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons on Aug. 28.
The Jaguars open the regular season on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.
All 16 regular season Jaguars games are on CBS47 and FOX30 this year.
