Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Pederson gives update on Trevor Lawrence’s right high ankle sprain

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson gave a slight update Tuesday on Trevor Lawrence’s condition after he exited Monday night’s Jags game early with an ankle injury.

Pederson said Lawrence has a right high ankle sprain and everything is stable.

Staff will see in a couple of days how Lawrence is feeling, Pederson said. He did not want to give a timetable for Lawrence’s recovery.

“I’m not going to put that time table on Trevor,” Pederson said. “I’m not gonna put him in a box like that. We’ll see how he is in a couple of days.”

Also injured in Monday night’s game was wide receiver Christian Kirk, who will miss some time with a core muscle injury, Pederson said.

Lawrence sprained his right ankle in the fourth quarter of Monday night’s 34-31 overtime loss to Cincinnati and will have more tests to determine the severity of the injury. He left the locker room in a walking boot and on crutches.

The injury to Lawrence and eventual loss dimmed what was supposed to be an exciting night, with the team’s first Monday Night Football game in 12 years.
