First Alert Weather: Wet Saturday Start Before Temps Cool Down

A line of showers and storms sweeps across NE Florida and SE Georgia on Saturday morning. Grab your umbrella if you’re out and about mid-morning!

The line will move over the I-95 corridor in NE FL by 7 to 9 a.m., exiting Putnam and St. Johns counties by noon to 1 p.m.

Heavy rain and gusty winds are the main threats in the strongest storms, and a brief spin-up tornado is possible too. Widespread severe weather is not expected today.

Rain totals will range from 0.5” to 1” where the rain is heaviest.

The line clears the area this afternoon and the sun will come out, and then temperatures drop tonight. Sunday morning will be COLD in the 40s and upper 30s, with afternoon highs barely making 60.

The weather pattern really dries out as the next opportunity for rain doesn’t appear until next weekend.
