It’s another day of likely record high temperatures for Jacksonville, as a late spring heat wave continues. Action News Jax chief meteorologist Mike Buresh is forecasting a high of 98 degrees, which would break the record of 97 set in 1945 at Jacksonville International Airport.
Today will be mainly dry as a very high wildfire risk continues. An upper level disturbance will bring in a decent chance for rain and storms on Friday, but it stays hot overall with temps in the upper 90s.

The Yellow Bluff Fire burning on Jacksonville’s far northside was 80% contained as of Wednesday night, according to the Florida Forest Service.

And this morning Florida Highway Patrol reported a brush fire in the area of I-95 and County Road 210 in St. Johns County. It was not causing any visibility or smoke issues.
