Kristen Rary is a general assignment reporter for Action News Jax.
She started her career in Savannah, Ga. at WTOC where she independently covered three counties. There she covered everything from state politics to protests to COVID-19 recovery.
Kristen is a graduate of the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) where she earned a bachelor's in journalism and a bachelor's in political science.
When she’s not reporting you can find her hanging out on the beach, trying out new restaurants, and playing with her toy poodle, Oliver!
Kristen is a passionate story teller and strives to share with viewers what’s happening in their community. She grew up visiting Jacksonville and now she couldn’t be more excited to join the city.
“We are tired of the shootings and the murders in our communities,” said Jacqueline Collier, the director of Cure Violence. “We are not about the shooting, especially at schools, and houses of grandmothers, where children are.”
A recent study from the National Employment Law Project shows more than 4.6 million workers have experienced wage theft in the last year alone, with many being women and minorities making less than $13 an hour.
