Umoja: The first day of Kwanzaa

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Habari Gani? Umoja! It means unity.

Non-denominational, no exclusions, only love and inclusion! Join us as we rejoice with the community on the first day of Kwanzaa. Let us show you the beauty of this annual celebration of culture in America.

Learn what the Nguzo Saba means and how to apply it to your life in the coming year. Unify with your community in a way you have never experienced before. Kwanzaa is all about unity.

We will teach you about the illustrious holiday and how to observe the principals year-round. We will also lay out the calendar for other Kwanzaa celebrations throughout the area.

Event Details: Celebrate the first day of Kwanzaa at the Ritz Theater and Museum at 829 N Davis Street. Make your own Africa-inspired dolls from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Umoja celebration starts at 5 p.m. Tickets are available for free on the event’s Facebook page.
