The two Florida residents who won $528.7 million by playing PowerBall and no idea they had won until the day after the winnings numbers were announced, it was revealed Wednesday.

David Kaltschmidt, 55, and Maureen Smith, 70, of Melbourne Beach, chose to receive the winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment in the amount of $327,835,077.79.

The pair said they had played the same lottery numbers for years. They bought the winning ticket at a Melbourne Beach Publix.

Kaltschmidt and Smith kept the win secret for a month. The other two PowerBall winners, in California and Tennessee, came forward in January.
