AMBER ALERT: 1-year-old Georgia girl found safe, teen accused of kidnapping in custody

GEORGIA — UPDATE, 3/18/2021, 3:45 p.m.: A 1-year-old girl at the center of an Amber Alert in DeKalb County has been found, WSB-TV reports.

DeKalb County police said they are working to reunite Royalty Grisby with her mother. The child was found in good health.

Malachi Richardson, 14, who is suspected of kidnapping the girl, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE: The stolen SUV that 1-year-old Royalty Grisby was in the back seat of has been located, according to the Dekalb County Police Department, but the toddler is still missing.

Police released a photo of 14-year-old Malachi Richardson, the suspect wanted for kidnapping her.

An AMBER Alert has been issued for missing 1-year-old Royalty Grisby.

Authorities say Royalty was inside a car just before 2 a.m. Thursday with her mother, who was making a food delivery for DoorDash in Stone Mountain, Georgia, when her SUV was stolen with her child in the back seat.

Two people jumped into the SUV and took off with the toddler inside, WSB-TV reported. Police are searching for the maroon 2010 Nissan Armada with Georgia tag #RWW4748.

The toddler was wearing a purple shirt with purple pants and white and pink socks.
