Two people who were arrested after a man was shot and killed in Murray Hill appeared in court on Saturday.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested Antoinette Boyd and Leondra Jones on Friday after Russell Waddell, 42, was killed on French Street around 12:30 a.m.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Waddell was shot and killed in the home with about three to four other people inside. None were children, according to officials.
Boyd, 24, is charged with murder and armed robbery. Jones, 44, is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The suspects had their first appearance in court Saturday morning. Both appeared to be distraught and one was even given tissues by a bailiff.
Jones appeared to be crying uncontrollably. Boyd buried her head in a booklet and spoke very softly in court.
Neighbor Andrew Parrish said he’s shaken to know Waddell was killed in his quiet neighborhood.
“Around here that’s uncalled for because you never hear about something like that going on around here. I know it blew everyone away, I know that,” said Parrish.
The judge gave Boyd no bond and Jones was given $100,000 bond.
