A judge sentenced a Jacksonville man to life in prison Thursday.
Joseph Edward Tether, 21, received a life sentence after being found guilty of first degree murder and attempted armed robbery for the shooting death of Nedzad Botonjic in July 2014.
A state attorney's office release says Tether tried to rob Botonjic outside a gas station on Atlantic Boulevard. The victim resisted and Tether fired his gun five times, hitting Botonjic in the chest once.
The entire crime was captured on surveillance video. After the murder, Tether fled the area and buried the gun, according to a release.
