Bugs in home biting daughter, Jacksonville man says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A family says they are living in a Jacksonville rental home that has bugs biting their 6-year-old.

The Edmunds family said they’ve asked their management company multiple times for help to get rid of termites, ants and fleas, but the bugs are still there.

“It’s all on the window sill eating through the window sill,” said Lugene Edmonds.

He said the bug problem put his little girl in the hospital.

Little girl covered in bug bites, father says.

The Edmonds said their family has been back and forth to the management office.

“They said they’ll get somebody over that can get around to it,” Lugene Edmonds said.

Two times the bug guy has come, but the Edmonds said the bug company didn’t treat the entire house.

So Action News Jax went there to get answers.

A representative at the management office said, “I’ll be happy to pass along your information.”

Management wouldn’t give Action News Jax the number to its corporate office, but promised a call from its manager. Action News Jax is waiting to on a call back from the manager.

The Edmonds said something needs to be done soon because his little girl needs relief from the biting bugs in their home.

Action News Jax also reached out to HUD to see if it had any information that could help the family and we’re waiting to hear back.
