Captain Jacks ghost boat tour is no longer at the St Augustine Municipal Marina.
“We had had conversations back and forth, and I actually found out he left for sure Monday morning,” said Harbormaster Sam Adukiewicz.
The harbormaster says the owners rented the slip out at the marina for about a year.
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Action News Jax called the manager of Captain Jacks to see where they were, and he says their contract wasn’t renewed, and they had to vacate the premises.
Action News Jax asked the harbormaster why they were asked to leave.
He says they have a strict policy at their marina.
“We don't like to overlap any existing businesses here, like we don't want to have two pirate ships,” said Adukiewicz.
The harbormaster says they didn’t believe Captain Jacks was following this rule and was advertising multiple attractions.
“We try to have new business, make sure it's singular and not overlapping any other businesses,” he said.
The manager of Captain Jacks says if anyone did buy a ticket off Groupon, they are trying to contact them and give out refunds.
