A local wildlife sanctuary that rescues big cats is getting ready to expand.

The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary on the Northside is home to dozens of lions, cougars and even panthers.

Wednesday, we got a behind the scenes look at the tigers, the stars of the large cat sanctuary.

About 65,000 people stopped through the Catty Shack last year to see the tigers and employees say that number is growing, which is why they plan on expanding.

"We have such a huge amount of people coming and I wish we were open every day, but we're not," said Curt LoGiudice with the Catty Shack.

LoGiudice with the Catty Shack said the plans to expand and remodel are still in the early building stages.

"We have 15 acres, here in the front and we're actually growing. We're looking at expanding and adding more acres to that," said LoGiudice.

LoGiudice said they are opening their doors, every other Wednesday, now to accommodate the growing crowds.

"Now we actually are growing to where we had to open another day, and have the public come out and enjoy animals even more," said LoGiudice.

It’s a sight, he says with the new additions, coming soon can only get bigger and better.
