CHARLTON COUNTY, Ga. — District officials announced students will be returning to the new Charlton County High School on Thursday, following a short delay.
Officials said teachers got the “all-clear” to start setting up their classrooms on Friday.
Open house will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, from 4 to 7 p.m. Students will start classes Thursday, August 13th.
The original announcement to delay the start of classes came Wednesday, August 5th, just a few days before high school students were slated to return.
Students at all other Charlton County schools will still return to class Monday.
Officials cited remaining electrical work as the reason for the delay, and that the postponement will allow teachers enough time to set up their classrooms and get equipment working properly.
