Father and son have life-threatening injuries after Clay County ATV accident

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a Green Cove Springs father and son riding an ATV got into a crash with a teen driving a pickup truck.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday night on Russell Road near Watkins Road in Green Cove Springs.

Thomas Clark, 51, was driving the ATV with his 17-year-old son Kameron riding on the back. FHP said the father and son were involved in a previous crash before they were hit.

Troopers say Kameron is in critical condition while the injuries to his father are considered serious. Both were taken to UF Health Jacksonville.

FHP is still investigating to find out how 18-year-old driver Jeremy Truesdell didn't see them stopped in the road until it was too late.

Thomas and Kameron Clark were thrown from the ATV, which flipped over and came to rest on the shoulder. Neither were wearing helmets.
