GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Clay County Habitat for Humanity will launch its 50th anniversary celebration with a kickoff breakfast on Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Fleming Island.
The gathering will take place at 8 a.m. at Church of the Way, located at 1859 Town Hall Circle.
The event will bring together community leaders, business representatives, volunteers and supporters ahead of the organization’s 50th anniversary in 2027. Breakfast organizers plan to recognize core volunteers, celebrate local community partnerships and present the group’s vision for the anniversary year.
Carolina Morrow, chief executive officer of Clay County Habitat for Humanity, spoke about the upcoming milestone and the organization’s goals.
“Fifty years represents generations of people choosing to invest in their neighbors and the future of Clay County,” Morrow said. “We will honor that commitment by building on it, strengthening partnerships, expanding opportunities for homeownership and helping more families build lasting stability. This celebration is an invitation to help shape what comes next.”
Founded in 1977, Clay County Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that partners with families to provide affordable homeownership opportunities.
The organization’s model combines financial education, sweat equity, and affordable mortgages, bringing together donors, volunteers, and future homeowners.
Attendees will learn how to support the organization’s work through donations, volunteering, and community collaboration. Nikki Glanville is managing event details and reservations and can be reached at nglanville@clayhabitat.org.
