Clay County Sheriff’s Office fires employee for possessing child pornography

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Monica Mae Green has been issued an arrest warrant for transmission of material harmful to a minor, tampering with physical evidence and possessing child pornography.

Green worked for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center since January 2015. She was on administrative leave at the time of her arrest.

The investigation began when a friend of Green’s told the Clay County Sheriff’s Office that Greene, who is 45, was in a relationship with a 17-year-old male.

Green’s friend provided statements that led investigators to believe the two exchanged sexually explicit text messages and photographs.

Both Green and the 17-year-old victim lived within Green Cove Springs which prompted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to work with the Green Cove Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section. The GCSPD obtained enough evidence to deliver an arrest warrant to Green.

Chief of Police Derek Asdot and Sheriff Michelle Cook are currently working to bring this case to a close.
