CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — One person is dead following a crash Thursday morning in Clay County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said just before 10 a.m., the driver of a gold Ford Focus was traveling eastbound on County Road 220, east of Blanding Boulevard, when the car veered right and traveled off the roadway.
FHP said the car then collided with the tree. The driver, identified as a 67-year-old Middleburg man, was taken to Orange Park Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
