LAKE CITY, Fla. — A Lake City father accused of killing two of his family members and critically injuring another will stay in jail until his next hearing.
Lake City police said Khoa Trong Vu, 41, came home early Saturday morning and got into a fight with his wife, Tina.
Officials said he grabbed a handgun and shot and killed his wife and 14-year-old son, Khoi Vu.
He's also accused of shooting his 17-year-old daughter Whit four times. According to investigators, another son, Khiem, tackled his father and held him down until police arrived.
"They've been through thick and thin together and I'm totally shocked," said family friend Jaqueline Brower-Haake.

Action News Jax was the only station in the courtroom Sunday when Khoa Trong Vu made his first appearance. We weren't allowed to show his face, but his voice sounded somewhat emotionless as a judge read him his rights.
Whit survived the shooting, but is in critical condition. On Monday morning, officials said her condition improved to stable.
"She wont be able to eat for another month or two and shes asking for her cell phone so that’s a good sign," Brower-Haake said.
Khiem sent Action News Jax's Deanna Bettineschi a text on Monday about his mom saying, "She never complained about anything. No matter what happened she's always had a smile on her face.”
Brower-Haake says the community is coming together to support the remaining members of the Vu family.
"Whatever they need, we will be there for them," Brower-Haake said.
