Corrine Brown will learn what her future holds Monday morning as the former congresswoman will be sentenced on federal fraud charges in Jacksonville.
Brown and her co-conspirators were convicted of using a fake education charity as their personal slush fund.
Brown’s attorneys argued for leniency at a hearing last month.

They cited her record of public service, health and age - Brown is 71 years old.

Prosecutors are asking the judge not to sentence her to anything less than 5 years in prison, but her attorneys only want probation.
Brown was convicted in May on 18 federal charges for her role in soliciting donations to a sham charity and using the money instead on personal expenses.

The charges also include that Brown filed false tax returns.

Her co-conspirators, Carla Wiley and Ronnie Simmons, will also be sentenced today.
Both Wiley and Simmons pleaded guilty and testified against Brown.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office accused Brown of lying on the witness stand.
If the judge decides that’s true, it will increase her sentence.
