Update on July 27: Erron Coleman, the man accused of shooting Daniel Rowe at the Blind Rabbit, is taking a plea deal and the state recommends a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
It’s been two years since Daniel Rowe was killed outside The Blind Rabbit in Riverside.
The 20-year-old father worked there as a cook and was fatally shot while taking out the trash. The restaurant has since closed.
It hasn't gotten any easier for Rowe’s parents, even as time passes.
“It actually started last night where it started to get rougher just knowing today was coming,” said Raelyn Rowe, Daniel’s mother. “Every year, it will be the day we lost our son.”
Family and friends met where Rowe was killed for a candlelight vigil Saturday.
Last year, Erron Coleman was charged with murder. He’ll be back in court for a hearing Monday.
Police believe a second suspect was also involved, but that person is still out there.
For Rowe’s parents, catching that suspect is unfinished business.
“Somebody knows something,” said Steven Rowe, Daniel’s father. “They need to come forward. He’s a coward. He’s walking around these streets right now, and he needs to be in a cage.”
