DCF investigation leads to 3 child neglect arrests

Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested three people Friday for multiple counts of child neglect.

According to a press release from FCSO, the arrests came after a two-week investigation into the welfare of three children, ages four, one and four months.

The Florida Department of Children and Families began investigating the household after the four-month-old was brought to Florida Hospital Flagler with multiple insect bites and bone fractures, according to the release.

Police responded to the residence to assist, the report says.

According to the report, hundreds of cockroaches were seen crawling on the floors, walls, ceilings, cabinets, and on all of the furniture including the children’s mattresses, playpens and a bassinet.

The report also says the home had no working air conditioning.

Lynn Marie Kulka, Michael Alan Choate and Rene Elizabeth Marchetta were booked into the Flagler
County Detention Facility Friday with a $5,000 bond per charge totaling $15,000 bond per individual.
