Deputies arrived and approached Crumley as he began to leave the pickup line on the school grounds. The report states the tag on the vehicle Crumley was driving was not assigned to the vehicle. When asked, deputies said Crumley said the car belonged to his girlfriend's grandfather and that "he was old and must have put the tag on the wrong vehicle," according to the report.

Officials said he also did not have his driver's license on him. When the deputy returned to his patrol car to run the name and date of birth Crumley provided him, deputies said Crumley got inside and sped away.

Deputies chased him eastbound on West Sixth Street. He reportedly ran through stop signs and almost struck a vehicle near U.S. Highway 1 while driving at a high rate of speed.

NCSO said he eventually tried to pass a semi-truck and lost control of the vehicle, striking a natural gas pipeline, causing approximately $10,000 worth of damage. The deputy then pulled up alongside Crumley's vehicle and Crumley reportedly accelerated, eventually hitting the deputy's patrol car.

Deputies say he was ordered out of the vehicle and resisted arrest.

Crumley faces charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia with reside, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, resisting arrest without violence, and operating a motor vehicle without proper Driver's License and was issued citations.
