Deputy reinstated after three-month suspension

BRANTLEY COUNTY, Ga. — A Brantley County Deputy was reinstated to full duty after being charged with battery in March.

According to a Brantley County Sheriff Jack Whisenant, Deputy Wade Bennett is back to work after serving a three-and-a-half-month suspension.

Bennett may face additional action depending on the outcome of the court case, Whisenant said.

Bennett was suspended without pay following an incident in which another man was beaten.
