You may soon be allowed to bring your furry friend to the brewery if some Florida lawmakers have their way.
Action News Jax first reported in August when the Florida Department of Health started strictly enforcing breweries from letting animals inside since beer is now considered a food.

Green Room Brewing in Jacksonville Beach allowed dogs inside for seven years.
The co-owner started a petition on Change.org in hopes of changing the law. It collected more than 35,000 signatures.
Right now, dogs are only allowed on the patio. Under the new proposal, dogs could hang out inside as long as they are leashed and kept off the furniture.

The bill would hold the owner liable if the dog causes any injuries.
If approved, it would go into effect this July.
