JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Registered voters in Duval County have until 5 p.m. ET this Thursday, Oct. 22, to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the upcoming General Election.
Vote-by-mail allows any registered voter to cast a ballot received by mail or picked up in person rather than voting at polling places during early voting or on Election Day.
Requests for mail ballots are not permanent and must be renewed after every general election.

“The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed for the General Election is 5 p.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026,” Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland said.
If a ballot is returned as undeliverable during an election, the voter’s request on record will be canceled. Voters who change their mailing address or plan to be out of town must notify the elections office immediately so the ballot can be sent to the correct address.
Elections officials recommend mailing completed ballots back as soon as possible. Returning the ballot early gives voters time to address and correct any missing or mismatched signatures.

Voters may also drop off completed ballots in person at early voting sites during voting hours or at the main office during regular business hours.
Voters with questions regarding the upcoming election can visit duvalelections.gov or call 904-255-VOTE (8683).
All vote-by-mail ballots must be received by the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. ET on Election Day, Nov. 3, to be counted.
