Officers said he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

A suspect in that double shooting has not been identified at this time, according to JSO. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and any video cameras that may have captured what happened.

SHOOTING ON I-295

A second, unrelated shooting happened just hours later before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said officers were called out to I-295 North near Roosevelt Boulevard after receiving a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they learned that two people from two separate vehicles, were shooting at each other while driving northbound on I-295.

A man from one of those vehicles was hit during the exchange and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
