JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — There will be an opportunity to see the Blue Angels flying over Jacksonville this week.

The U.S. Navy’s elite flight demonstration team will be practicing at Naval Air Station Jacksonville this Wednesday through Friday.

NAS Jax is not open to the public during these practice sessions.

Earlier this year, the decision was made to cancel the 2021 Blue Angels air show at NAS Jax. Normally, about 300,000 people attend the two-day air show and NAS Jax said “the risks to keep people COVID safe are too great with social distancing guidelines from the CDC.”

These practice sessions will allow the Blue Angels to maintain required flight proficiencies until COVID restrictions are lifted.

People who live in neighborhoods surrounding NAS Jacksonville will notice an increase in aircraft activity and noise during these practice sessions. To register a noise complaint, you can email NASJAX_NOISE_COMPLAINTS@NAVY.MIL.
