JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Jacksonville Beach is getting a major face-lift.
It will be home to a 25,000 square-feet of mixed-use space, including a 16 to 18 bedroom boutique hotel, as well as a restaurant, retail and office space.
Rubble is all that’s left of the Sydney Beach Club Bar and neighboring surf shop on 1st Street North.
Carleigh Eagle has lived in the area for years and is excited about the future.
“Local businesses are going to make more money, people are going to see money come in the area, it will be great in that regard, as long as we can be safe,” said Eagle.
This new hotel is just part of the changing Jacksonville Beach landscape.
A new Margaritaville is also in the works and the Pier Cantina restaurant will become a Spring Hill Suites.
Action News Jax also told you last year when the former Campeche Bay was sold to real estate investors and just last month the neighboring bar Ruby Beach announced it is moving downtown.
The vice president of the company developing the property says construction will be complete by summer of next year.
