JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Around 9:30 p m, last Thursday, a white male in his 20s was involved in a motorcycle crash, northbound San Jose Boulevard. The male was driving recklessly and at a high rate, according to a witness.
The driver then lost control on the 8500 block of San Jose and struck a nearby concrete mailbox.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene and no one was hurt.
Lieutenant Nassim Mana, with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit, has since conducted a briefing involving the crash.
“Unfortunately, he was deceased at the scene. No one else was injured. Please keep the victim and his family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Question: Was alcohol or drugs involved?
Answer: It is early too tell whether the driver was impaired. We work closely with the medical examiner’s office, and they will provide us with a toxicology report to see whether the driver was impaired or not.
