JSO arrest man suspected in multiple murders

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 25-year-old Jatari Jaquan Jones in connection to two separate murder cases that occurred in 2019.

According to JSO, Jones is accused of shooting a victim on Sept. 9, 2019, in the 4200 block of West Moncrief Road. The victim was a 17-year-old boy, the boy died at the hospital.

Jones is also accused of shooting and killing a 27-year-old man on Doeboy Street on June 21, 2019.

JSO arrested Jones on Tuesday in connection to the two murders.

Police say Jones was found with a firearm and various drugs, adding additional charges to his case.

Jones was charged with murder in the second degree. Also for armed possession of cocaine with intent to sell/manufacture/deliver, carrying a concealed firearm, and resisting officers without violence.
