JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported a woman in her 40s is dead after she inexplicably drove into the center median in the 1900 block of Southside Boulevard on Wednesday night.
According to JSO, the woman was driving north on Southside Boulevard and, for unknown reasons, drove in the center median, where she then hit a small tree. She then drove across the northbound lanes and east service road before her car hit a fence and tree.
The woman was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to JSO.
She was the only person in the car.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
