Man dead after overnight hit-and-run on I-95, FHP says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly, overnight hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on Interstate 95 at Lem Turner Road.

According to the crash report, at around 11:59 p.m., troopers responded to the area involving an unknown vehicle and a pedestrian. The suspected vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on I-95 from Lem Turner Road. The pedestrian, a 44-year-old man from Jacksonville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP said that all lanes of I-95 southbound were shut down for several hours, but they have since reopened.
