New details emerge about Jacksonville crime family centered around drugs for decades

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in a murder that took place in 2019 in Jacksonville.

Hakeem Robinson has been arrested in the 2019 murder of Adrian Gainer, when he was shot to death on West 45th Street.

Investigators say Robinson was charged with a different murder in 2020 and could be connected to several other murders.

A new police report reveals that a witness told investigators Robinson shot the victim at “close range in the back of the head or neck.”

The report also state Robinson “posted several photographs and videos bragging about the murder.”

More than two years after Gainer’s murder, an arrest warrant was issued for Robinson’s arrest, but Robinson was already in jail.

He and his father Abdul Robinson were arrested in 2020. JSO said Abdul Robinson ran a crime family centered around drugs for decades.

Abdul Robinson was charged with helping his son escape after the murder of Charles Mccormick Jr.

“There’s many names for ATK, ‘Ace’s Top Killers’ is one. It’s led by a man named Abdul Robinson, who has been a central crime figure in Jacksonville for probably 30 years plus,” said Sheriff Mike Williams, when announcing the Robinsons’ arrests in  September 2020.

He added the pair could be connected to several unsolved murders in the city.

“So when we talk about the small number of people driving a significant number of crime in the city like the state attorney just said, this is what that looks like … nine people potentially responsible for 15 murders that we know of, and who knows what else.” Williams said.

There is one more Robinson family member on the run, Abdul Robinson Jr.

He’s 26 years old and wanted by U.S. Marshals and JSO.

If you’ve seen him, call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS (8477).
