One month later Jacksonville man still missing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It’s been a month since Jacksonville man Sanchez Hughes was last seen. His mother opened up to Action News Jax in hopes of getting answers to bring her son home.

There are few words to describe what the last month has been like for Yolanda Hughes and her family. Her son, 30-year-old Sanchez Hughes is missing.

“He was kindhearted. He enjoyed life, he loved traveling. He loved dressing. He was a fashion designer,” she said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office posted an alert online when Sanchez was first reported missing.

Sanchez was last seen in the Lake Forest area around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2.

Police say he was wearing a black tank and sweats, black Nikes and a hat.

His mother said, “He was home with his roommate and a couple of friends.  He just said he was going to pick up a friend from work. And that’s the last thing we know.”

Sanchez’s mother shared one major clue in her son’s disappearance.  She said his car was found abandoned.

If you think you know something or saw his car off Lem Turner Road on the night of Aug. 2, his mother is pleading with you to call JSO and help bring her son home.

“We need more actual tips to give us a better lead, a better location—any information that’s going to lead us to what really happened,” she said.”I just need him home. I just need my son home.”

Action News Jax checked with JSO for an update. A spokesperson told us the department has received some tips, but they haven’t led to anything so far.

If you can help or have any information call 904-630-0500.
