JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A St. Johns County teenager has been arrested in connection to an attempted home invasion and robbery in Jacksonville Beach which ultimately turned deadly.

18-year-old Samantha Allison Weiner has been charged with second-degree felony murder and solicitation to commit robbery, police said.

Police allege that Weiner hired two people to rob her ex-boyfriend, following their breakup.

“She basically orchestrated this person to go there in an attempt to rob her ex-boyfriend,” Jacksonville Beach Police Commander Mark Evans said.

“I think it’s really crazy, this seems like a super nice area where nothing like that would happen,” said a local babysitter, who wished to remain anonymous due safety concerns.

Evans said Weiner’s alleged actions stem from the relationship going sour.

“At one time, she was in a relationship with the shooter and with the person that was shot,” Evans added.

Police say Weiner’s ex-boyfriend was armed and shot 20-year-old Ezekiel Archulata. They say he was not arrested for the shooting because he acted in self-defense but was arrested in connection to drug charges.

“They were able to track down all the communication and that type [of] thing between the shooter and Ms. Weiner and the others,” Evans explained.
