JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The original Woody’s Bar-B-Q location at 1638 University Blvd. S. will permanently close this Wednesday, Sept. 30.
To mark its final day of operation, the restaurant is offering an Original Bar-B-Q Pork Sandwich with fries for $1.90.
Woody Mills and Yolanda Mills-Mawman founded the restaurant at the University Boulevard location in 1980. Over the following 46 years, the business expanded from its initial location into a barbecue brand with locations across Florida and other states.
The $1.90 throwback special reflects the price featured on the restaurant’s menu from July 1980. The offer includes an Original Bar-B-Q Pork Sandwich served with fries.
Although the original site on University Boulevard is closing, Woody’s Bar-B-Q will continue operating its existing Jacksonville restaurant at 5930 Powers Ave.
Woody’s Bar-B-Q plans to relocate the original restaurant to a new site within the Jacksonville market.
