JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update April 10, 4:15 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 25-year-old Dean Ray Holland Jr. for the deadly shooting Thursday on Firestone Road.
Holland was detained at the scene of the shooting, which took place around 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, and was taken in for questioning by police.
He was charged with second degree murder, attempted murder, and shooting inside an occupied dwelling. He is not eligible for bond.

Original story, April 9: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said two people were shot on the 6600 block of Firestone Road near 103rd Street Thursday afternoon. One of those victims died at the scene of their injuries.
The second person who was shot was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
JSO said an initial investigation points to a dispute that went on inside a home that led to the shooting. One person has been detained and is being interviewed by police.
The gunshot victim at the hospital is also being interviewed. JSO will release additional information at a later date.
