JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 8:50 P.M. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and an investigation revealed that a female bicyclist was hit by a vehicle as she was traveling across westbound traffic.
The victim was transported from the scene to the hospital. Later, she was pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity is unknown at this time.
Officers are redirecting traffic as the Traffic Homicide Unit actively investigates the incident.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department is responding to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on the 10200 block of Atlantic Boulevard. The westbound lanes have been closed from Cortez Road to Lee Road as a result.
