JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Video of second-grade students at Biscayne Elementary Students celebrating extra free time is going viral.
The kids got the free time after one student correctly answered a tough math problem.
Twitter user @therealziggyb23 posted video that second-grade teacher Mr. Dwayne Taylor shared with the parents of the students in his class.
Action News Jax’s Nick Gibson spoke with Taylor and some of the students who were happy to benefit from their fellow classmate’s math skills.
On the day he took the video, Taylor made a wager with his students.
“I had told the students, I said, ‘We’re about to get ready to have free time.’ And so they were like, ‘OK.’ I told them, I said, ‘You have to finish your exit ticket before you earn the free time,’” Taylor said.
The students took Taylor up on the offer and chose classmate 8-year-old Harlie McCary to answer the problem.
“Harlie, it’s up to you,” Taylor can be heard saying in the video. ”All right parents, we made a bet. If Harlie gets this right, then we can have free time. If she don’t, then we still workin’. Harlie, what answer did you write down?”
“Seven,” she answers.
The classroom erupts into pure joy, jumping and cheering.
“I love math,” Harlie told Action News Jax’s Nick Gibson. “We love to play and have free time.”
Before Harlie even announced the answer, 7-year-old Judah Johnson was seen in the background in the video praying she’d get it right. When she did, he cried tears of joy.

“Now mind you, parents, these are tears of joy,” Taylor said in the video.
“I like praying because when I pray, everything goes right. And when she got the answer right, I started crying because I was so happy and excited,” Judah said.
The video was originally posted on March 16 and since then, it’s been reshared by Barstool Sports.
It’s gotten reaction from Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Pro Bowler Robert Griffin III:
And the official “Ted Lasso” account said “this might be the best clutch performance I’ve ever seen.”
