Officials with the Waco Fire Department tweeted just before 1 p.m. local time that a welding accident caused a robotic dinosaur included in the facility’s weekly “Jurassic Quest” event to catch fire at around 12:30 p.m., KXXV reported.
According to KCEN-TV, a convention center employee was completing some welding work on the installment, when a spark ignited the display’s outer layer.
“Jurassic Quest” is an interactive dinosaur event hosted by the facility every Friday, KXXV reported.
The department confirmed no injuries were reported and that the convention center was not damaged in the fire, KCEN-TV reported.
