Young mother Ebony Nicholas 22, killed at Amazon Fulfillment Center

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — We’re learning more about the 22-year-old woman who was killed at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in North Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Loved ones tell us Ebony Nicholas was a loving mother of two whose life was taken all too soon.

JSO tells Action News Jax 22-year-old Daisean Biffle shot Nicholas and then turned the gun on himself. Investigators said he tried to take his own life but was unsuccessful.

Danae Carter is still trying to come to terms with the fact that her god-sister Nicholas is gone.

“When I first heard what happened to her, my heart dropped. And I said, ‘Not Ebony, no Ebony. This can’t be true,’” Carter said.

Carter said Biffle and Nicholas had been dating for years — although she claims it wasn’t healthy.

“She never told me she feared for her life, but what she did tell me was that there were times where she would be afraid of what he may do,” Carter said.

She never thought Biffle would do this, and Carter said it couldn’t have happened to a more kind and beautiful person.

“If she came across you and thought you were having a bad day, she would be that person to make you smile and make you laugh,” Carter said.

That’s why she just wants answers as to why he would take away a very loved mother of two.

“Why? That’s all I want to know,” she said.
