Principal Michelle Walsh of Lake Lucina Elementary sent a recorded message to parents and guardians Tuesday afternoon -- in reference to an incident involving a knife on campus.
Walsh stated that school officials received a tip from a student that another student had a knife and verbally threatened to harm someone else.
Law enforcement intervened and confiscated the knife, and the student was detained.
Action News Jax has learned the incident has been turned over to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The student will face consequences per the student code of conduct.
