DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — Stuart Carson's family is still emotional and there were a lot tears in the courtroom Thursday. But, they stood strong as the judge read Rohbanni Wilson his sentence for shooting and killing Carson in his taxi in Brentwood.
Wilson was sentenced to life in prison for the crime, but the judge praised the victim's family for their presence in the courtroom.

"That's the bravest I've ever seen in this courtroom," Judge Mark Borello said.
Kayla Carson took a brave step most teenagers would have been afraid to take by standing before her father's killer as she told the courtroom why her father meant the world to her family.
"I did it for my dad, and I did it so Wilson could know exactly how I feel," said Kayla Carson.
In June 2014, Wilson took Stuart Carson's life in the back of Carson's own cab.
"If I didn't look him in the eye today then I would go home and been sad for the rest of my life," said Kayla Carson.
Now Wilson, 23, will spend the rest of the rest of his life in prison for murdering the father of four. He was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder and armed robbery charges and 15 years in prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
"This day makes us feel very happy and glad that my husband got the justice he deserved," said wife Kelly Carson.
"My brother won't be in it, but hopefully, we can rebuild our lives and move on," said sister Lori Gilkinson.
But, each family involved in the case knows there was no winner with the sentence. Wilson's family said he was a good guy with a good heart. The Carson's said it'll still be tough to move on.
"We have justice now and we're happy, but we still don't have our dad," said Kayla Carson.
The family said at least Wilson won't be able to hurt anyone else.
Wilson has 30 days to appeal his sentence.
